A very great mat. It provides me good support about the floor. I got a blue 1, which feels like ocean. As for that odor that some people complained, I don’t believe it is a problem for me. It had some plastic smell whenever you very first op.

I got the orange yoga mat and love the color. The plastic smell was pretty strong at first but after airing it out for couple of days, it has fainted. Decent thickness and length for my average height and weight. Placing the mat back in the bag is effortless and easy to carry.

This is the third yoga mat i have purchased! This 1 may be the greatest! I love it. No break in needed. It provides great cushy support. It’s a bit heavy and pricey but nicely worth it. It does have a little bit of the smell, i left it open for a few days and that helped. If you are severe about yoga I extremely recommend this mat!

This is my first mat and I just started with yoga. The mat is nice and there is enough space for my wide entire body. And I love the natural smell from the resin, and its not overwelming, but very light odor. I am most likely the only 1, who likes it. But I do feel the mat temperature, and its cold, maybe because its winter and also the floor is cold, although I use mat on my wool rug. I cannot imagine to swet from doing yoga, this is not like aerobics or jugging. I’m pleased so far and I enjoy acai color.

First off, I’ve been practicing ashtanga/power yoga for about a year and a half now. I’m not an expert, but I know what works for me. My hands and feet sweat a lot during class. Most mats I’ve tried turn into a slip-and-slide after the first 5 minutes. From day one I’ve had to use a towel under my hands at the front of the mat to keep from collapsing in down dog. I’ve tried them all, your standard “sticky” mat, a mysore rug, etc. The sticky mat gripped until I got sweaty then it was worthless. The mysore rug needed to be so wet to grip that I ended up sitting on wet spots (not fun). The Black Mat is the only one that works. It grips perfectly and I don’t even need the towel under my hands. I also love that it is so thick and dense. It doesn’t “follow” me when I jump through, provides plenty of padding for my knees/arms, and is very stable for balancing poses. I even like that it’s heavy…it helps tone my arms!

I bought the black mat due to great Amazon Customer reviews. Bottom line with this mat: If you are going to use the mat to constantly go to the yoga studio, buy the Purple Travel Mat from Manduka. If you are keeping this Black mat at home and not needing to travel with it, its an excellent mat. The Purple Travel mat is great for traveling, light weight enough and provided adequate yet firm padding for joints/knees. The Black Mat which I returned due to its weight and bulkiness, is better as a stationery, at home mat. Its depends on where you pratice your yoga. Both Manduka mats a wonderful products.

I have tight hamstrings. Down-dog is very hard for me, and my version of the asana is rather wide, creating thrust at hands and feet. I bought this mat hoping to get better grip, especially when sweating, than is possible on lighter mats. The extra weight is acceptable, and even the ridiculously high price I can handle in exchange for durability and a truly non-slip surface. Oh well. As delivered, the surface is actually the slickest of any of my four yoga mats. I have used the mat twice, and then went looking for the packaging to return it. But one of my teachers suggested that I scrub it with a stiff brush, hot water, and a little dishwashing detergent. This really helped, and now I really like this mat. I wonder why it doesn’t come iwth instructions for this necessary prep-work? Or, better yet, why not ship it ready to use? After all, for $80, one expects a rectangle of rubber that is virtually perfect. Anyway, the prep-work isn’t too onerous, just annoying.

I’m a yoga instructor and decided to treat myself to a primo yoga mat when my old mat started to wear thin. I ordered this one after reading the reviews but I guess it didn’t sink in how heavy this baby is. If you only have to carry this to class, you’re golden. In fact, you will get an excellent upper body workout just walking to class. If you are like me and have to carry extra yoga mats, eye pillows, a gym bag and a 13 month old, forget it. I just didn’t see what was so great about this one. For that price it should do yoga FOR YOU. There are nice, thick yoga mats out there that cost half as much. Wai Lana makes some premium mats that are very nice. As for me, I think I’ll try the Drishti next.

I use this DVD as part of my weekly yoga routine-practicing 3-4 times a week at home. The matrix is really beneficial in helping me create my own “yoga hour” or half-hour, if I’m short on time. It has also helped me to stick to a routine practice. The instruction is a good pace for beginners and has instruction for intermediate practitioners also. I highly recommend it if you’re serious about home practice. It’s also playable on my home computer and laptop.

The other reviewer took the words right out of my mouth. The instructor is on a beach in India. You sweat your butt off to thee coolest music and sounds of ocean waves and rain. YOU WILL MOST CERTAINLY SWEAT! I am intermediate and she actually taught me QUITE A FWE new moves I have never seen before on my MANY MANY other yoga dvds! Yet at the same time it is not rushed and it’s very soothing and relaxing! I LOVE IT! LOVE IT! I only paid eleven bucks. Best yoga dvd ever and I got it cheaply I am so thrilled. My new favorite!

A yoga mat is really the only thing that you tend to use on every yoga workout. It cushions your feet and gives you stability during some of the stretching moves. This mat is a full 1/4″ thick and provides great cushion for your yoga routines.
First, a note about all yoga mats. Because of what they are made of, they tend to have a chemical type of smell when you first get them. This is normal! You simply air them out for a few days, perhaps wipe them down with soap and water, and this will dissipate. It’s like breaking in a new pair of boots – you have to go through that initial phase.
I found the mat to be really wonderful. It is cushiony enough that it supports me in a variety of poses, whether I’m standing, kneeling, laying down, stretching. It is far better than doing yoga on a bare floor – whether that might be wood, stone, carpet or whatever. The cushion is really important for many poses.

The thickness of this mat is very comfortable. It’s much better than the 1/8″ mat which I find it too thin. This 1/4″ mat gives me enough padding when I sit, and it doesn’t throw me off balance when I stand. I also like the length of this mat which is 4″ longer than the standard size mat. It’s so good to have so much room to stretch when I lay down. Item arrived within the delivery estimate time. Very prompt service.

Yogitoes Mat Review
I have been practicing Hatha yoga for almost a year now. I noticed everyone had these towels but didn’t appreciate how great they are! If you sweat a lot during your class, you probably slip on your mat – this eliminates that hassle and allows you to practice and sweat without a problem. Another added bonus is that your mat stays clean. Even if you have an old mat, you are better off extending the life of your mat by buying a yogitoes to put on your mat. Throw them in the wash and it’s that easy. I sugggest NOT drying them though. I dried one of mine and it doesn’t stick to the mat as well anymore. It air dries very fast so there is no need to put it in the dryer. Also, wash them alone. They tend to bleed in the wash for SEVERAL washes – and if you wear light colored gear to class and sweat a lot, it might get on your clothes in class too – especially with the red towel. I had no problems with the green one. There is NO drawback to this product – it just rocks.

This is a great product. I got it for a little extra traction during power yoga, and it was great for that. It provides a little extra cushioning, and completely covers the mat. I also use it during Bikram (hot) yoga instead of a towel, and it’s great. It stay nice and smooth because of the little nubbly things, and of course–the very best thing–it’s machine washable. I washed it seperately for awhile, because the directions said that the colors could run, but after a few weeks I started washing it with regular clothes and it’s fine. It’s a pleasure to use!

Everyone seems to feel that sweat makes their mat or towel more slippery. I have always had the opposite problem, that my hands slip mostly in down dog at the beginning of class. However, I see improvement as things heat up and a little bit of sweat gets my mat sticky. Perhaps my nectarous sweat is stickier than that of others? Anyway, I like the Yogitoe towel, because it has a lot of traction to keep me in place at the beginning of class. Also, I use it on top of a mat, so it provides a nice soft cushion for my knees in poses like camel or frog and for my hips in bow pose. I highly recommend this towel!
