I have been using this type of Roman Chair in both the studio and gym where I train and I was skeptical, because of the price, if the Apex Roman Extension Bench would compare. I couldn’t be happier with the sturdy construction and excellent design of this bench – it’s one of the favorites among my clients and it is, by far, my absolutely favorite. I like that it can be used for both back extensions (by lying prone on the pad) and abs (by sitting on the pad with legs extended and doing modified “sit ups.”) It is perfect for someone with a sensitive back (because you are completely in charge of the range of motion you use) and it really allows you to target your abs because you can move through a much bigger range of motion and doing traditional sit ups on the floor. I HIGHLY recommend this equipment. It takes up very little space, it’s extremely well made and not hard to put together. It’s the best buy/best bargain purchase I have made for my studio!

Apex Roman Chair is a great product at a great price. I found it very easy to assemble. Im 6′1″ 190lbs the roman chair fits me fine, im pretty picky about the fit of hyper extension machines but this one didn’t bother me at all. I can extend all the way down and up with out hitting my head on the frame. For the money its a great buy. Sole F80 Treadmill Review
I bought this treadmill right at the new year. I agree with others that, 1) Inside delivery is important unless you have 2 other people to help you; 2)the fans are weak but ok; 3)the sound system is good enough but you can’t control the mp3 player through the machine which is a little inconvenient while running; 4)I find the unit very stable (I am 6ft, 190lbs and run for an hour at 7.3). My one negative is that I don’t think they do a good job of lubricating the belt/deck very well because there is black dust that accumulates on the floor behind the end of the treadmill. This is obviously from the friction caused from the belt scraping the deck. They do provide you with a tube of lubrication, but the instructions say that this is for future lubrication, not immediate application during initial set-up. The company told me that sometimes this happens when the treadmills sit in the warehouses for long periods before getting delivered, but even so, it seems like a pain that I am going to have to lube the deck myself since I just bought it. I haven’t done it yet, but hopefully it is an easy process. But even with that being said, I still think it is a really good treadmill that I would recommend to others. More…

Concept2 Model D Indoor Rowing Machine Review
I started rowing at my gym, where they used the concept2 model D. After awhile, I found that mostly what I was doing at the gym was using the rower, so I decided to buy my own. Maybe expensive, but not really when I know that I’ll probably be using this rower for the rest of my life (I’m 40 now). It holds up really well. The concept2s at the gym are used heavily and show no signs of wear other than that the instructional stickers on the frame have been worn off.

I have put over 3,780,000 meters on mine with 488 workouts with an average time per workout of 45 minutes. It has held up beautifully with very little maintenance other than occasionally lubing the chain (which is very easy to do; I prefer to use my bike lube).

I really like that they send you the concept2 newsletter as well and it has been useful and motivating. You also become a member of this concept2 user community that is out there and you can post your stats on the web site and compete in events and stuff, though I haven’t done these things yet. It is nice to be part of the community even if you don’t really participate in it.

I like to watch tv as I row. I do have to turn up the volume fairly loud (the rower is not noisy exactly, but it can be hard to hear dialog sometimes; dvds with no english subtitles piss me off). The sound of the rower itself is actually kind of relaxing and sounds similar to a fan being turned off and on).

This and my powerblock weight set are investments I’m really happy with and I’ll be using for the rest of my life. More…

I purchased this after using the product in physical therapy for a nerve disorder in my arm. I find it useful for keeping my strength up. It is good exercise even if you have no arm problems. I also find it good to roll on my back for a mini-massage.

Excellent product. Easy to maintain a good grip while training. Provides exercise for muscles used in deep sea fishing, with results that are difficult to achieve with dumbbells or other methods.

I can not believe how good a work out you can get. This has to be one of the best I have ran across. I am going to order the blue to see how it works.

This product is great for folks who have arm and shoulder problems. It was used as part of my official physical therapy regime after I dislocated my shoulder, and I ordered one for my own use at home, because it was so helpful.

I purchased this brand and model to compare against the Cando twist-n-bend, which is a very similar product. The Thera-Band Company makes quality products and some of them are designed for very fit individuals. However, the Flexbar heavy model is not a product for a person of even moderate strength. It is far to easy to twist and bend this model to get a decent workout. The Flexbar heavy, medium, and light models are better suited for people going through rehabilitation, those that lack upper body strength, and teenagers whose muscles have not fully developed. Although the material ingredients are a little bit better quality than the Cando twist-n-bend, the Cando extra heavy model, which Thera-band does not have a similar model, is designed for strong athletes, martial artists, boxer, wrestlers, bouncers and many others. The Cando model is also cheaper. should have spent my money on another Cando twist-n-bend instead of the Flexbar.

Adjustable Ankle-Wrist Weights Review
While ten pounds on each wrist or ankle may not sound too extreme, any extended period of time with these weights on is going to fatigue just about anyone. Having said this, it should be noted that adjusting the amount of weight is a simple matter. Given the range of weight options, the overall appearance is somewhat large and bulky. If you are wearing these things, you really can’t hide it. However, if you want to give a turbo shot to your daily walk or other activity, these things can’t be beat.

I wear these to walk to work every day. I like them overall, but I have to stop every once and a while to readjust how they sit on my legs because they often slip and hit my ankle bones. I can fix the problem by slipping them around to a more comfortable spot, but they could be more comfortable to begin with.

I bought these with the idea of doing various exercises I had been doing at physical therapy. The bulkiness of the individual weights was not what I expected. The first time I used the weights, I had a bruise the size of an orange on the back of my leg. I still use them, but wish I had different ones.

I bought these to help continue shoulder and knee physical therapy at home. They have met my expectations and served my needs well. Seems to be solidly constructed though the fit could be problematic if you have small ankles and/or wrists. That being said, the fit is generally looser on the wrist vs. ankle so you might have to contend with using your fingers to prevent them from slipping down (not a big deal). I have 7.25″ circumference wrists and they slip down a little bit over the hand. The fit is easily set around my 10″ circumference ankles. The double metal loop is a good design and the product as a whole seems like it will last quite a while. I dock it one point because it is VERY easy to catch the bristly end of the velcro on the nylon that makes up the edge of the product and when it pulls it starts to fuzz terribly. I don’t think this will hurt the useful life of it much but it is kinda annoying and could have been avoided.

I purchase the kettlenetics program when it first came out in June 2008. Within the first week I started to notice a difference. It is a fun workout that targets all different muscle groups. One con that I did have in the beginning was that I had trouble following the routine. I am not naturally coordinated and have no dance background, so while following the quicker paced movements might be easy for some, it took me a few days to be able to get through the routine. If you are going to do this program I also recommend additional cardiovascular training. I was not in shape at all when I started and could barely get through a video without stopping to catch my breath.

I am in my 50’s and have been weight-lifting for 20 years, so I know I am strong (lat pull downs of 80lbs), so what did I think of this work out? I was looking for something with core strength training and cardio combined as a new challenge and took a chance on this workout with all the great reviews. I was not disappointed. The DVD has 3 segments. The first shows you the moves…these are not weight-lifting moves, but swinging, lunging and twisting. The next 2 segments are the workouts. Stick with the tone one to learn. The segments are all 20 minutes. You will feel like you are WORKING, even though this is only a 4 pound weight. I was sweating and muscles hurt the next day. Beginners may want to take it slow and pause to catch their breath, or modify using only a 2 pound dumb bell.

I’m just getting back into the workout scene after an injury. This product is good for all levels and trust me you will feel and notice a difference. After the first workout, I was shocked that I was sore mostly in my legs (I was expecting my arms and abs to be sore). I recommend this product to anyone (of all levels) who is looking for a workout that will not bore you and wants results. I’m looking forward to upgrading to the more advance workouts!

I waited a very long time to order this, because it seemed so “gimmicky”…. I finally did order it from the Kettlenetics site (so I could get the upgrade right away) and haven’t been sorry!! The workouts definitely get my heart rate up and keep it there. I love the variety of the workouts…which range from 20-50 minutes, so I can fit a workout in, even if I’m feeling rushed. While this is NOT traditional Kettlebell form, I really like the fusion of the kbell, toning, traditional Kettlebell moves and dance. This is a workout that will keep me entertained for a long time.

I received my inversion table as a gift. Assembly was fairly easy and I had it together and ready for use in less than 30 minutes. After the first time I used it, I felt the benefits. My entire body felt much more flexible. I can only imagine how I’ll feel after using it for an extended period of time. I plan to incorporate inversion therapy as part of my daily workout. Great choice for anyone looking for an inexpensive way to get into inversion therapy. I can’t imagine getting anything better at two or three times the cost.

I really don’t have any ideas to improve this product. On other inversion tables people say they have to use shoes because they are hard on your feet. This table has a little different design to hold you in. I don’t use shoes. As most people know most of your weight is pulling on your feet and there is some real minnor pain from that, my biggest thing is having my feet falling asleep. I normally use it for 20 mins so I don’t think there is a way of getting around that. At 190 pounds the table is pretty solid. Easy to put together. One more great thing. I got free shipping from amazon. I think it took a little over a week to get. I haven’t been using my table enough yet to say the inverion tables are the best thing in the world to be back pain free but this table is the best value on amazon.

Mine came with directions and was easy to assemble. The directions were fairly clear. I really like the finish on the unit more than a plain chrome one. I was surprised it came with all the tools required for assembly. Still getting used to inverting, but adjustments are simple and fast. Seems to be just as nice as some more expensive models. The only negative is you have to break down the unit some for storage.

My wife and I recently purchased the Ironman 1000 from Amazon and received it in less than a week. Assembly was easy and the machine is very solidly built. My wife and I had experienced lower back pain, before getting the Ironman, and had been to the chiropractor a few times for adjustments. I have also had a pinched nerve in my left leg for about 3-4 months. I am 51 years old and have noticed after using the Ironman for less than a week have gained 3/8 of an inch in height. Our backs feel great and no longer have the pinched nerve problem. We now feel that we have more freedom of movement without pain and our backs are getting back to normal. P90X Chin-Up Bar Review
The P90X Chin Up Bar does a good job of of making any doorway a great pullup bar workout area. Construction of the bar which comes in various lengths of metal bars was intuitive, but it also comes with step by step instructions if needed. The bar was reasonably sturdy for my weight of 175 lbs. and allows close grip, medium grip, and wide grip pullups. Whether someone weighing much over 175 lbs. (say 200-250 lbs.) would put too much stress on the bar is a concern. You can leave the bar up or take it down after each workout, which is very convenient if your workout area is also your living area.

Great product. Im 210lbs and it has held up for the last 90 days without a budge. Solid, easy to take down and put back up! I have worked out with it on the p90x program (great program) and it has done great for my back and strength training. Best product for the money spent. Enjoy!

I bought this because I lived in an apartment. I did NOT use anything other than the bar to work out with; in other words, I did NOT use the extra brackets. It is my opinion that you don’t “have” to use them, but they are there for safety/legal reasons. If you have controlled and thoughtful motion, the way it sits on the door frame and pushes on the sides makes it sturdy enough. However, to remove the bar, you lift it up (as seen on TV). If you were not paying attention during a workout, I can see where the lawyers are afraid you might dislodge it… so therefore, the extra security of the brackets. Your choice. Beware, however, that the bar fits only standard doors. I’ve since moved into a townhouse with smaller spaces, and if there isn’t room ABOVE the door, it won’t work (the ceiling is flush with the door frame in the areas I have doors). Also, your door can’t be WIDER than the bar (as in two double doors that open), because it needs the sides of the door frame to push against. If you have normal sized doors, this is the one for you. The brackets? You can probably do without, but in case a lawyer is reading this… I’ll say that you should use the brackets.

The P90x chin up bar is an excellent chin up bar with multiple hand grips for the best possible workout. I’ve been using it with the P90x tapes, but will continue to use it even after the 90 days. At first, the nuts were difficult to fasten, but after pulling out my drill, they easily tightened. I also did not use the metal plates over the door frame. I’m a female, 5′6” and weigh 125 and the bar stays firmly in the doorway without shifting while I workout. It fits very snuggly without them, but I think they are more for securing purposes. Also, at first, the black part of the bar that goes over the door frame was rubbing off some black color on the white walls in my apartment, so I improvised with some clear plastic wrap (the kind that sticks to itself easily) and problem solved. I would definitely recommend this bar over others.

Everlast Multi Function Chinning Ba Review
This pull-up bar is great for doing all sorts of pull-up variations and can also be used as a push up bar and a foot brace for crunches. In addition, I bought ab strabs (Harbinger) that clip onto it which basically completed a home gym that fits in the corner behind my bedroom door. My only complaint? The padding on the bar was worn through in the spots where it touches the door frame after only about a week. Roll it in duct tape=perfect. Oh, I don’t, but you might care about the fact that it might wear down your door frame a little bit.

I felt the multi-function chinning bar by Everlast was much better than the Iron Gym chin/pull-up bar that cost about the same, but, their quality is suspect. Others have said the same thing. Easy to assemble; instructions are an easy read; the weight use for the bar is above average; though, didn’t fit every doorway I had and wanted to use, so, must alternate my workout accordingly. I’d rate this above other products of similar quality/price that are competing on the market.

First off, any of these removable, door-frame mounted bars are a great buy. Leave it hanging in your doorway and just be willing to knock out a set when you walk by. You will notice a difference. I bought this after seeing the infomercials for the Iron Gym. The extra “U” shaped grips have are worth the $3 alone. Very solid build and very convenient for those times when going to the gym is just not possible. Don’t underestimate a simple pull-up’s value as an exercise. This thing is awesome for push-ups, too. Despite a limited range of movement, using this for dips will give you more than an adequate burn in the triceps. Next to useless for crunches and sit-ups, though (just not stable enough).

I’ve never bought anything that is sold on TV, but a friend recommended this to me. I first tried it at his house, and had to buy it. This is a great alternative to going to the gym. It won’t replace power-lifting, but if your goal is to get a great upper-body workout, this is a great value and it’s fun to use. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT!

I have this product for over 3 months and have been using it 2 tp 3 times a week. I was weary of the product especially a “seen on TV” type exercise equipment. It takes a little while to get used to the twisting part but what you will feel immediately is no strain on wrists nor hands. It is 100X better than doing floor pushups! Due to it be elevated from the floor, you can do deeper pushups. When you open the box, they come already assembled with an exercise poster. Yes they are plastic but very heavy duty. This is an excellent product and an excellent buy.

When I got a $50 Amazon gift card for the holidays I decided to try it since there were quite a few positive reviews. Nevertheless I was quite skeptic, but I was pleasantly surprised. The push ups seem to be more intensive and there seems to be no stress on my wrists anymore.

This apparently simple modification to normal push-ups goes far in terms of joint stress reduction. Thus, you do them more often, meaning better results sooner.
